For many, breastfeeding is a no-brainer. However, for many others the decision of whether or not to breastfeed can be a source of stress and concern. Sometimes it's just a matter of educating yourself to ease the anxiety around it. We at Moonbow Baby are large proponents of breastfeeding, so we've provided a number of links below to give you all the information you should need regarding breastfeeding your child.
Womenshealth.gov is more than just a breastfeeding resource. There is a lot of very valuable information for expecting mothers. The link will bring you to the breastfeeding resources page, which gives a great deal of information about the health benefits for both mother and child. It also provides some resources to know your rights as a breastfeeding mom in the workplace.
La Leche League International (LLLI) has a wealth of information from all over the world regarding breastfeeding. One of the most impressive features about LLLI is they've created a global community with local chapters of breastfeeding mothers to support one another. This social network in LLLI is of tremendous value, as you can connect with other moms in your community. This is not a Facebook group. It is live meetups (if you choose) with other moms who are there for one another, and where friendships can develop.
The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) is another great resource for expecting mothers. It contains much more information than just breastfeeding, but this link will direct you to the breastfeeding resources page. This is a very comprehensive and easy to follow site full of articles written and reviewed by other OB/GYNs.
